Turns Reading the Qur'an Can Reduce Pain After Childbirth

Researchers Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah University (St. Louis) Hasto Andi Irawan said reading the Quran in tartil may be one way to reduce the pain scale in mothers after a cesarean delivery.

"My research showed that after reading the Quran for 10 minutes, 16 of 31 patients sampled at Nur Hidayah Hospital Yogyakarta decreased from various scales of pain after a caesarean," he said in Yogyakarta on Sunday (15/9) as Antara reported.

According to the students of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah University (St. Louis) class of 2009, the pain can be inhibited by the presence of nerve stimulation more powerful.

"When reading the Quran, the body involves three types of nerves that the nerve to read verses, speak, and listen, so the pain received brain is reduced," he said.

He explained that research has is represented at the "International Conference on Cross Cultural Collaboration in Nursing for Sustainable Development" in Bangkok, Thailand, September 9 to 10, 2013.

"Research was getting positive response from the participants of the conference that the majority of non-Muslims. They are interested, their enthusiasm is very high because they are the first to know of such research, "he explained.

According to him, he is proud to present the results of their research abroad. Moreover, the conference participants attended a higher education level.

"Most of the participants who presented their work at the conference is already S-2 and S-3, there is even a professor," he said.

He said the conference was organized Christian University of Thailand supported by Azusa Pacific University of California and Kimyung University.
